<br />or reject said application. <br /> <br />If the Council approves <br /> <br />the application, a license authorizing the applicant to <br /> <br />engage in the business of excavating and backfilling <br /> <br />water service connections shall be issued, but only <br /> <br />after the execution and filing of the bond required <br /> <br />and the payment of the fee provided. <br /> <br />(8) Bond Required. A water service excavator, before he shall <br /> <br />be allowed to engage in business, shall give a surety to <br /> <br />the Village in the sum of $2,500, to be approved by the <br /> <br />Village Attorney as to form and security, and to be so <br /> <br />conditioned that such work as the water service excavator <br /> <br />is to be permitted to perform shall be done in accordance <br /> <br />with laws governing this class of work and further <br /> <br />conditioned to protect and save harmless the Village <br /> <br />from any and all liability, damage, and expense which <br /> <br />the Village may sustain by reason of the granting of such <br /> <br />permit for the making or doing of such work. <br /> <br /> <br />(9) Re-Examination. Should the applicant fail to pass the <br /> <br /> <br />examination, he shall be entitled to file a new application <br /> <br /> <br />and take a second examination. Should he fail the second <br /> <br />examination, he shall not be eligible for another <br /> <br />examination. <br /> <br />(10) Fees. The annual license fee shall be $12. Licenses <br /> <br />shall be issued by the Village Clerk and shall expire on <br /> <br />the 30th day of June of the year in which issued. <br /> <br />
