<br />14.150. Temporary Signs. A permit for temporary signs <br />other than referred to elsewhere herein may be issued for not <br />more than thirty (30) days for each permit, but such permit <br />may be revoked by the Chief Code Enforcement Officer or Council <br />and such sign shall then be removed immediately. <br /> <br />14.160. Signs Without Frames. Signs which have letters <br />or graphics mounted directly on a wall or fascia or in such a <br />way as to be without a frame shall be permitted to exceed the <br />normal sign size requirements by 40 percent. The dimensions <br />for calculating the square footage shall be the area extending <br />6 inches beyond the periphery formed around such letters or <br />graphics in a plane figure bounded by straight lines connecting <br />the outermost points thereof. Each surface utilized to display <br />a message or to attract attention shall be measured as a separate <br />sign. <br /> <br />14.170. Directional Signs. Where one way access and <br />egress drives are incorporated in a site plan, a sign indicating <br />traffic direction no more than 18"x36" may be placed at a drive- <br />way within one foot of the street right-of-way. <br /> <br />14.180. Non-Conforming Use. Signs which do not conform <br />to the regulations set forth in this Chapter as of the date of <br />its passage shall be declared a non-conforming use or structure <br />and as such shall be under the regulations set forth in Section <br />11.010 through 11.090. <br /> <br />14.190. Window Signs. Signs placed inside a building <br />for the purpose of viewing from the exterior of less than 36" <br />from a window area shall not occupy more than 25% of the <br />window area from which they are viewed. Lettering on such <br />signs shall not be more than 6" in height. <br /> <br />Residence District Signs <br /> <br />14.200. Sign Regulations in Residence Districts. The <br />following signs are permitted in Residence Districts: <br /> <br />(1) Exclusive of house numbers, one name plate <br />sign for each single family or duplex dwelling unit which <br />shall not exceed 3 square feet in area per surface and no <br />sign shall be so constructed as to have more than 2 display <br />surfaces and may be within 10 feet of a street right-of-way <br />line. Permitted home occupations may have a business sign <br />not to exceed 3 square feet and shall not be illuminated. <br /> <br />5 <br />
