<br />(2) Exclusive of house numbers, one name plate <br />sign for each dwelling group of 6 to 12 units, which shall <br />not exceed 6 square feet in area per surface. One name <br />plate sign for each dwelling group of 12 to 24 units which <br />shall not exceed 24 square feet in area per surface. One <br />name plate sign for each dwelling unit group above 24 units <br />at a size not to exceed 1 square foot per unit to a maximum <br />of 100 square feet. All such signs shall conform to yard <br />requirements. No sign shall be so constructed so as to have <br />more than 2 display surfaces. Said sign may indicate the <br />names of the buildings, project, be a directory for occupants <br />or state any combination of permitted information. <br /> <br />14.210. Institutional Uses. Churches, schools and <br />other permitted institutional uses in Residence Districts <br />may have an illuminated name plate sign not greater than <br />50 square feet in gross surface area. Temporary signs adver- <br />tising a special event may be posted after receiving a permit <br />from the Inspection Superintendent. Such sign shall not be <br />greater than 70 square feet in area, less than 30 feet from a <br />property line, and shall not be displayed longer than 30 days. <br /> <br />14.220. Prohibited Signs. Illuminated signs, rotating <br />signs and those listed in the General provisions shall not be <br />permitted within the "R" District. <br /> <br />14.300. Sign Regulations in "B-1 and B-1B" Districts. <br />Within the "B-1 and B-1B" Districts only name plate signs and <br />business signs are permitted. Gross surface area and type of <br />sign shall be allowed as listed in Section (14.600). <br /> <br />14.400. Sign Regulations in "B-2, B-3 and S-C" Districts. <br />within the "B-2, B-3, and S-C Districts only name plate signs, <br />business signs, illuminated signs and rotating signs are per- <br />mitted. Gross surface area and type of sign shall be as <br />listed in Section 14.600 subject to the following provisions <br />and exceptions: <br /> <br />(1) Any wall sign may exceed the limits listed in Section <br />14.600 to an amount equal to 1/2 square foot for each lineal <br />foot the sign is setback in excess of 60 feet distant from <br />the center line of the frontage street, but not to exceed <br />300 square feet. No 2 or more signs shall be arranged and <br />integrated so as to cause a gross surface area exceeding the <br />area limitations in this section. <br /> <br />- 6 - <br />
