<br />in (a) above, and for restoration of a <br />higher type street, such fee as will be <br />set by the Public Works Director; all <br />back fill materials shall be mechanically <br />compacted in 12" layers to the density <br />of the adjacent material in the roadway <br />area, in accordance with Minn. Highway <br />Dept. standard specifications, to the <br />existing street grade. <br /> <br />(c) For larger connections, the amount to <br />be charged shall be fixed by the Public Works <br />Director, based upon the estimated cost of <br />installing the service. <br /> <br />(d) The city shall install, or have in- <br />stalled, all service connections from the water <br />main to the property line. Payment for service <br />connections must be made before the work is <br />started. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Sections 66.400(1) and (3) of the City Code of the <br /> <br />City of Roseville are amended and (7) is added, as follows: <br /> <br />66.400. Water Meters. <br /> <br />(1) A security deposit to be made by customers <br />for water meters and payment for the same shall be <br />made in advance of installation for all meters in an <br />amount equal to the city's cost of obtaining the <br />meter plus $15.00. This deposit will be refunded <br />when the property ownership is transferred. Re- <br />mote reading devices on water meters will be <br />required, except where otherwise determined by <br />the utilities Superintendent. <br /> <br />(3) A consumer may, by written request, have <br />his meter reread, by depositing the amount stated <br />below with the Finance Department. In case a <br />test should show an error of over five per cent of the <br />water consumed, the deposit will be refunded to the <br />consumer, a correctly registering meter will be <br />installed, and the bill will be adjusted accordingly <br />
