<br />(4) Proof that the applicant is a graduate <br />of a recognized school of massage. <br /> <br />For purposes of this ordinance, "recognized school of <br /> <br />massage" means any school or institution of learning which <br /> <br />has for its purpose the teaching of theory, method pro- <br /> <br />fession or work of masseurs and masseuses, which school <br /> <br />requires a resident course of study of not less than <br /> <br />seventy (70) hours before the student shall be furnished a <br /> <br />diploma or certificate of graduation following success- <br /> <br />ful completion of the course of study. Such school must <br /> <br />show current membership in good standing in the American <br /> <br />Massage and Therapy Association or other recognized pro- <br /> <br />fessional massage organization. Schools offering a corre- <br /> <br />spondence course not requiring actual attendanceof class <br /> <br />shall not be deemed to be a recognized school. <br /> <br />(b) Fee. The annual registration fee is $ 500.00 <br />and the registration shall expire on July 1, of each <br />year. <br /> <br />(c) Review of application. Registration appli- <br />cations shall be reviewed by the police department. <br /> <br />(d) Denial of application. The registration <br />application may be denied for any of the following <br />reasons. <br /> <br />(1) The application contains false, <br />fraudulent or deceptive statements. <br /> <br />(2) The applicant has been convicted of <br />or entered a plea of guilty within the previous <br />three (3) years to a violation of this chapter, <br />or of any other law regulating the practice of <br />massage, or of any law prohibiting criminal <br />sexual conduct, prostitution, pandering, indecent <br />conduct or keeping of a disorderly house. <br /> <br />(3) The applicant has not complied with <br /> <br />- 2 - <br />
