Roll Call: Ayes (4) - Nays (I), Carpenter opposing. <br /> <br />Subject File 413-67 - Roberts Construction Company request for rezoning from R-l to <br />R-3 at 1750 Marion Street. <br /> <br />Mr. John Daubney represented Mr. Roberts and requested the rezoning so that they could <br />put up a 23 unit building. This parcel measures 185' x 122' and the land on three <br />sides of this property is zoned R-3. McCarrons Blvd. <br /> <br />It appeared that about 35 people were at this hearing. Mr. Arnold Albreich, President <br />of McCarrons Improvement Association had a petition with 382 out of 395 that had been <br />contacted around the lake against the request. Mrs. Roger Hess, President of the <br />McCarrons P. T.A. said they passed a resolution stating that "No more apartments in <br />Precinct I". <br /> <br />The following subjects were discussed. Washed out driveway, right-of-way, number of <br />units, number of hearings, type of building, water problem, what about property to <br />the north. would value of homes in the area go down, wee.ds on hill in back of Galtier, <br />picking away of R-l property, bussing children to other schoo is, and draw line to <br />limit apartment development. <br /> <br />After discussion it was moved by Anderson and seconded by Remsburg that we lay this over <br />until our January 3, 1968 meeting in order to give the applicant time to determine the <br />drainage, check on the width of Marion, and show a cul-de-sac on Marion. (Apartment Park District), approval of special use permi t <br />for planned residential development and variance for property <br />located on County Road C between Western and Mackubin . <br /> <br />Mr. John Daubney represented Mr. WiUmus and requested the rezoning and a variance for <br />9 extra units, and a special use permit. The units would rent in the $200 .. $250 range. <br />The project would cost over $2 million.
