-2-

Mr. William Eagan wanted to know who will maintain the drainage pipe and the answer
was that the Village of Roseville would. After discussion

It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Edlund that we recommend to the Council that
they approve the request for rezoning from "R-l" to "R-3" as requested subject to
dedicating 30' for Marion Street, and the construction of a temporary cul-de-sac at
the north end of Marion Street, and subject to the Public Works Director's report of
April l, 1968. Roll Call: unanimous.

SUb{hct File 436-68 Edward Bossard request for rezoning from R-l to R-6 on Cohansey
nor of tounty ~oail B.

Mr. John Daubney represented Mr. Bossard and presented plans for six groups of eight
units per group with separate garages for each group, The units would be rental units.
The road would be put in and the drainage problem has been acted on by the Council, The
water problem was ~1e reason for not building any more houses. The townhouses would be
a step down transition from the single family homes on the east and the apartments on the
west.

Discussion in the Planning Commission centered on the poor quality of the townhouses and
the fact that the apartments to the west had been held back far enough from the property
line so that this property would be buffered by the open space on the adjoining property.
We felt that the two houses on each side of Cohansey Boulevard at County Road B set the
pattern for the rest of the property to the north. After discussion

It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Edlund that we recommend to the Council that
they deny this request for rezoning. Roll Call: unanimous.

Subiect File 444-68 R. W. Johnson Properties request for rezoning from B-1 and B-2 to
~-~ and spec1al use permit and variance to zoning at l045 West Larpenteur Avenue.

Mr. John Daubney represented R. W. Johnson Properties and read a petition from the
Lexington Plaza Shopping Center dated May I, 1968, approving of the above request.
Mr. Daubney stated that the ratio of bedrooms has been changed to 43 two bedroom units
and 125 one bedroom units. This would require a variance to density of 85.300 square
feet. They would have 230 underground, heated parking spaces and enough surface parking
spaces to have two spaces per unit. Tbe buildings would be smaller but would have the
same setbacks. Landscaping would be done on the 20' sewer easement. All access would be
from Larpenteur and none to the north out on Dionne Street which is residential in this
area. They would use hand split shakes, After discussion

It was moved by Remsburg and seconded by Pope that we recommend to the Council that they
approve the request for rezoning from B-1 and B-2 to R-3A, and also that the request for
variance to density and the special use permit be approved subject to Engineer's report.
Roll Call: unanimous.

Subject File 448-68 Dayton Development Corporation request for vacation of streets in
Rosedale ShoPPIng ~enter at northwest corner of Highway 36 and Snelling Avenue.

There appeared to be no reason why this request should be granted so

It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Edlund that we recommend to the Council that
they grant this request for vacation of streets in the Rosedale Shopping Center as
requested. Roll Call: unanimous.
