<br />-2- <br /> <br />It was indicated that there will be two spaces per apartment unit, one enclosed <br />and one outside space. <br /> <br />Mr. Mally G. Smith, 498 Glenwood Avenue, referred to a petition submitted by a <br />number of residents in Precinct No. I indicating that they wanted no more apartments <br />in the area and felt that it had reached a saturation point. Mr. Smith also indicated <br />that he felt the owner purchased the property in good faith as zoned R-l and that it <br />should stay R-l. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />After further discussion by the Commission members, Edlund moved, Carpenter seconded, <br />that the application submitted by Ben Freeman for rezoning from R-l to R-3A at 485 <br />West Larpenteur Avenue be approved except the east 250 feet which should remain R-I. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Carpenter, Johnson, Pope, Edlund, Eagles and Membrez. Nays: none. <br /> <br />Johnson moved, Edlund seconded, that we approve the special use permit subject to <br />the conditiuns that (1) any future engineering studies relating to storm sewer <br />shall be subject to the approval of tOe Public Works Director prior to construction. <br />(2) that the applicant dedicate the east 250 feet of the property to the Village for <br />park purposes and that the density requirements for the 144 apartment units be waived. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Carpenter, Johnson, Pope, Edlund, Eagles and Membrez. Nays: none. <br /> <br />Planning File S03-~9 - Anna Peterson and Claire Davis (C & G Camp Center) request for <br />special use permit at 631 West Larpenteur Avenue for camp trailer sales. <br /> <br />Presentation <br />In <br /> <br />Mr. Claire Davis, representing the C & G Camp Center, indicated that he had now <br />complied with the wishes of both the Planning Commission and the Village Council as far <br />as the proper procedure for this land use. Mr. Davis indicated that he had withdrawn <br />his rezoning request and now is requesting a special use permit for the sale of camp <br />trailers in a B-2 zone. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />1v ~ <br /> <br />The Commission members indicated that this was their original recommendation and <br />that they were now in a position to act upon the special use permit. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />F <br /> <br />Eagles moved, Pope seconded, that a special use permit be granted to the Peterson- <br />Davis Camp Trailer Sales for a period of five years, as specified in Ordinance No. 596 <br />passed by the Roseville Village Council on April 14, 1969. Roll Call, Ayes: Carpenter, <br />Johnson, Pope, Edlund, Eagles and Membrez. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planninj File 504-69 - Lad Properties, Inc., special use permit and planned development <br />at the northeast corner of County Road B and Dale Street for an apartment complex. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Burger, Manager for the Lad Properties, Inc., stated that they proposed <br />to build five apartment buildings with 330 units. Mr. Burger presented maps indicating <br />two foot contours which the Planning Commission had requested at their last meeting. <br />It was indicated that the exterior treatment of the apartment building would be a com- <br />bination of cedar shakes, stucco and brick with the stucco to have the earthy colors <br />which will tend to give it a better effect with the existing terrain.
