Mr. Glasrud indicated they would be frame construction simi lar to single <br />family dwellings. <br /> <br />Mr. Jenkins, 785 Rose Place. Questioned why this application was before the Planning <br />Commission since in the deed restrictions of tne surrounding property only single family <br />homes could be built. <br /> <br />Mr. Rothfusz, 2576 Fisk. Asked Mr. Glasrud what plans he had for the lots that Ban-Con <br />owns on Fisk Street, Mr. Glasrud answered that they would be constructed with single family <br />dwellings. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Henning, American Legion Club. Asked how this rezoning would effect the Legion <br />property. Mr. Glasrud said that he would suggest that 20 feet of Aladdin Street be vacated <br />and if this was done and the zoning approved that Ban-Con would then pay for the installation <br />of all uti 11 ties and street construction. He also stated that they had planned on having <br />underground electric service for this property. <br /> <br />Mr. Fred Resler, American Legion Club. Asked if this entire project was based on the <br />vacation of 20 feet of street right-of-way. Mr. Glasrud answered that if single family <br />homes had to be constructed on this property that they would not be wi lling to finance the <br />entire street and utility construction but would request that it be assessed to both sides <br />of the street. <br /> <br />Mr. Al Schoenthaler, 751 Rose Place. Presented a petition outlining the reasons why the <br />signers were opposed to the rezoning. <br /> <br />Ernest Willingby, 832 Lovell. Stated he thought this was spot rezoning. <br /> <br />George George, Commander of the American Legion Club. Stated he was speaking in behalf of <br />the Legion Club who are against the rezoning. <br /> <br />Mrs. Kirchoff, 750 W. County Road C. Stated that she was under the impression that when the <br />Legion Club property waS bought that there were certain limitations as to what could be con- <br />structed on it if and when the Legion Club decided to leave this property. It was stated <br />that anything that conformed to the zoning of this property could be constructed there. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Berry, l059 County Road C. Asked if this proposal was turned down would Ban-Con <br />still build homes on this site. Mr. Glasrud indicated that he would build homes in the <br />$18,000 class on these lots. <br /> <br />Mr.. Johnson, 2586 North Grotto. made the statement that most of the homes in the area had <br />two cars and so would the townhouses. <br /> <br />The Planning CommissiDn discussed the rezoning and the future use of the American Legion <br />Club property. They questioned who would build single family homes across from the Legion <br />property. The problem of traffic was also discussed. Mr. Dahlgren felt that the traffic <br />would not be a problem. Mr. Dahlgren stated that in any case, the west property line would <br />be considered the rear lot line. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Edlund Moved, Kellet Seconded, that we recommend that the request by Ban-Con, Inc. for <br />rezoning from R-I to R-6 at approximately 2561 Aladdin Street be approved.
