Abbott of the Dayton Development Corporaticn indicated they desired <br />to divide the easterly portioo of the westerly 750 feet of Lot 1, Block 3, <br />Rosedale Center Second Addition. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 655-71 - Richard Steiner request for special use permit to sell .build~ <br />mg materJ.al in 1-1 zone at 1430 West Coll1ty Road C. <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Steiner, owner of the property, and Mr. Donald DeCoster of the Midway~ <br />Platt Company, the proposed occupant of the building, were present. Mr. DeCoster <br />stated his company would be retailing surplus hardware and allied products from the <br />location. He indicated that the products are primarily discontinued items, closeouts, <br />or rejects. Mr. Steiner indicated that enough parking was available on the property <br />to acconm:>date all the potential customers. <br /> <br />Discus.sioo <br /> <br />Mre Jomsoo indicated that the Conmission needed additicnal infonnaticn on the pro- <br />posal before a legitimate reconmendation could be made to the Council. Mrs. Demos <br />indicated that we have a code for retail sales and that we require others to con fonn <br />to it. She indicated opposition to the proposal of having retail sales in an <br />industrial zone. <br /> <br />Mr. Membrez indicated that the Commission has not recomJJended approval of previous <br />applications for retail sales in industrial areas in the past. <br /> <br />Mr. Edlund stated that he was opposed to it even if sufficient parking were availab1eo <br /> <br />RecolJII\endation <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett moved and Mr. Edlmd seconded, that the Canmission recOlTl11end denial of <br />Richard Steiner's request for special use penni t to sell building material in 1-1 <br />zone at 1430 West County Road C.
