Johnson moved and Mr. Kellett seconded that the Commission recommend approval of an <br />18 foot side yard variance with the front of the garage to be set back not less than 55 feet <br />from the front property line on Mildred Street. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 693 - Dean Dworshak request for variance to side yard setback at <br />2717 North Griggs Street. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dworshak indicated that he proposes to construct a garage to within 13 feet <br />of the side yard on a corner lot. The Village Code requires a setback of 30 feet. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. Membrez moved and Mrs. Demos seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of Dean <br />Dworshak's request for variance to side yard setback at 2717 North Griggs Street. Roll <br />Call, Ayes: Membrez. Demos, Eagles, Kellett, G. Johnson and V. Johnson. Nays: Pope. <br /> <br />Planning File 695 - Carlton Mix request for variance to side yard setback at <br />2020 West Skillman Avenue. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Mix indicated that the contractor he had retained to construct a swimming pool had <br />failed to get a permit and that the Village inspectors had stopped construction when they <br />discovered that he was not abiding by the Village Code. He indicated his embarrassment <br />at this and was willing to do whatever the Commission decided. He stated that the fence <br />around the pool would come within 13 feet of the side property line on a corner lot. The <br />Village Code requires a 30 foot setback. He indicated that there were problems with re- <br />gard to grade and topography to the west portion of the property which prohibited the <br />shifting of the pool location. <br /> <br />If the pool were to be constructed farther to the west, it would require a retaining wall. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett moved and Mr. G. Johnson seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of <br />Carlton Mix's request for variance to side yard setback at 2020 West Skillman Avenue. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Membrez, Demos, Eagles, Kellett, G. Johnson and Pope. Nays: V. Johnson. <br />
