-4-

Recommendation

Mr. G. John~on moved and Mr. Kellet seconded, that the Long Range City Development Planning
be laid over until the mext regular Commission meeting. Roll Call Ayes, Grauel, G. Johnson.
Kellett and Pope. Nayes: None.

Other Business

Recommendation on proposed development in Shoreview.

Presentation

Roger Ce~rick of Derrick Land Company representing Allied, who are the developers for the
proposed development gave a brief histroy of the project as it covered the last three years.
The ultimate development will be about 24 acres in size and will include townhouses and
residential lots. It was pointed out by Mr. Derrick that this area was at one time high 1n
the Ramsey County priority list for purchase in the open space program but had been dropped
in priority when Rao,sey County found it had run out of money. Mr. Derrick also pointed out
that the Village of Shoreview and the land development felt that the best use for this land
was the park, but since the City of Shoreview was not in a position to purchase the land at
this time, the developer felt that he should develop the land.

Di scussion

Mr. Grauel stated that the County will probably not buy the land and that Rosevi11e would like
to see the land purchased by Shoreview.

Mr. Pope asked if Shoreview could purchase part of the land.

Recommendation

Mr. Grauel moved and Mr. Kellett seconded that the Commission recommed that the property should
be used for open space if at all possible, however, if the property must be developed then
Rosevi11e would favor the following;

1. Retain as much open space as possible.

2. If townhouses are a vehicle to conservation to open space, the City would have no
objection to their use on the piece of property.

3. Rosevi11e would suggest that the continuity of open space into the Lake Emily area
be considered by the City of Shoreview.

Roll Call, Ayes: Grauel, G. Johnson, Kellett and Pope. Nayes: None

Other Business

Stop signs at Victoria and County Road "C."

Discussion

Mr. Grauel commented that he had received many inquiries as to the intersection of Victoria
and County Road "C." He stated that, as the intersectio.n is now signed, it provides a
potenti~lly dangerous situation to the residents of Roseville.
