<br />~5- <br /> <br />Planning File 868 <br /> <br />Margolis Brothers Company request for special use permit for a <br />nursery at 295 Larpenteur Avenue, <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr, Norman Brody~ representing Margolis Bros,~ indicated that Margolis is applying for <br />a special use permit for the growing of nursery stock on the Larpenteur property, He <br />stated that there would be no retail sales and that a fence would be constructed around <br />the property, The equipment on the property would consist of approximately two tractors~ <br />one potting machine~ one loader and one to four trucks, This is the type of equipment that <br />is needed for the nursery stock operation and would be the only equipment on the site, <br /> <br />Mr Irv Margolis indicated that most of the time the equipment is not on the site because <br />it is off on other jobs or during the winter is in storage, He stated that no building <br />is needed for the storage of thf' equipmenL The fence around the entire site would be <br />chain link, No buildings are px oposed. The only storage on the property would be nursery <br />stock,'- <br /> <br />Mr Margolis indicated there would be no piling of black dirt or storage of nursery <br />supplies such as patio blocks, etc, During the winter a trailer and perhaps a pulivero <br />izer would~e stored on the site, <br /> <br />Mr, Margolis stated that he would be happy to place the equipment storage area wherever <br />the residents.or the Commission would prefer it, He stated that there would be no <br />additional lights on the property over and above what is presently there, <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Andrew Pitzel, 296 Dionne Ave,~ indicated that he has no objection to the proposal, <br />He felt that Mr Margolis had done what he said he would do on the property and that he <br />has been a good neighbor, <br /> <br />, <br />Mr Duane Haukabo, 1731 Galtier. stated that the site has improved during the past year <br />and that if Mr, Margolis completes the plan as proposed that he would have no obj ection <br />to the application, <br /> <br />V Johnson inquired if Mr, Margol:is intended to dedicate his property. approximately 125' <br />x 460', 1.ocated north of the property for which he is requesting a special use permit to <br />tha city for park purposes, <br /> <br />Mr, Brody indicated that Margolis Bros, intend to dedicate the parcel to the city some <br />time in the future but at the present would rather keep the ownership and let the city <br />use the property as access to the city park, <br /> <br />Mr, Margolis indicated that he had been willing to dedicate the property if the preo <br />viously requested rezoning had been approved, but at present he would prefer to let the <br />city use the property for access~ but not dedicate, <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr c Membrez moved and Mr c V, Johnson seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of ~ <br />Margolis Brose Company request for special use permit for growing of nursery stock at <br />295 Larpentuer Avenue with the following conditions: <br />
