Nays: None, <br /> <br />Planning File 894 - Shafer Contracting Company request for special use permit at <br />644, 646 and 656 County Road C <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Don Wozniak, attorney, indicated that in February 1974, an identical application was <br />made and in May 1974, the Council denied the application for the special use permit and <br />authorized the obtaining of appraisals on the property for the potential purchase of the <br />property for park land. He stated that no offer has been made for the property and that if <br />the city wants to buy it for park, thats fine, but that action must be taken to purchase it <br />now, He stated that if the City condemns the property that they would obviously have to pay <br />for the gravel on the property, He asked the Commission to consider the possibility of <br />selling the gravel on the City property and also granting the special use permit to the <br />applicant for the excavation of the gravel on the private property, <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr, Grauel commented that in 1973 Shafer Contracting Company had agreed to seed another <br />area which had been excavated, The area has still not been seeded, <br /> <br />Mr, Rudy indicated that this was true but that they were hoping this applicat10n for spec- <br />ial use permit for further excavation would be approved and that they could then seed the <br />entire area at one time. <br />
