<br />-2- <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Kramer stated that Ramsey County needs an additional 16~ feet of right-of-way on <br />Lexington Avenue adj acent to Mr. Mast's property. Hr. Mast was asked if he would be <br />willing to dedicate this right-of-way and he responded that since it was something new <br />that he would like to think about it, <br /> <br />Mr, Dahlgren suggested that a reasonable approach to the exterior of the building could <br />be for the ends of the garage to be brick and the front and rear could be a compatible <br />material with the brick used for the apartments. <br /> <br />Mr. North stated that My. W. R, Anderson, 1140 Roselawn, had phoned and stated that he was <br />opposed to the variance for the garages. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. G. Johnson moved and Mr. V. Johnson seronded, that the Commiss ion recommend approval <br />of Joseph ~st's request for variance to building setback at 1943 Lexington Avenue with <br />the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. That 16~ feet of right-of-way be dedicated on Lexington Avenue <br />2. That the exterior east and west ends of the garage be finished in a brick similar <br />to the existing apartment building. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: ~fustel, Cushing, Go Johnson, V. Johnson, Kellett, Rukavina and Grauel. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 939 - Roseville Covenant Church request for variance to sign setback and <br />Number of Signs at 2651 North Hamline Avenue <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr 0 Gramby, 1409 Rambler Road, member of the Board of Trustees of Rosevi11e Convenant <br />Church, indicated they need a second sign on the property which will be more visible from <br />Hamline Avenue. He stated that the church needs a sign on which the letters can be changed <br />and which is lighted. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Grauel corronented that if this variance were approved for the two signs that a potential <br />problem is created in that other businesses will also want to have the two signs. <br /> <br />Recorronendation <br /> <br />Mr. V, Johnson moved and Mr. Kellett seconded, that the Commission reconunend approval of <br />Roseville Covenant Church's request for variance to sign setback and number of signs at <br />2651 Hamline Avenue. Roll Call, Ayes: ~stel, V, Johnson, and Grauel. Nays: Cushing, <br />Go Johnson, Kellett and Rukavina, <br /> <br />Planning File 940 - H & W Motor Express request for variance to sign setback at 2720 Fairview <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Jerry Kunz representing H & W Motor Express, indicated they are proposing to construct <br />a small sign to within 4~ feet of the front yard property line. He stated there are no <br />other signs on the property except for a small sign on the building itself. He commented <br />that there was no other location for the sign to be located because of a drive in front of <br />the building, <br />
