Simons suggested that the construction of an additional 14 planters In <br />the parking area would be beneficial to the total development. <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett felt that some additional planters should be constructed but he <br />preferred to leave the specific number open at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. V. Johnson e^~ressed concern that 14 additional planters might tend to be <br />over kill. <br /> <br />Recomnendation <br /> <br />Mr. Kellett moved and Mr. Rukavina seconded, that the Commission recommend <br />approval of Dayton Hudson Corporation's request for variance to building <br />setback at ISIS West County Road B with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. That a defined pedestrian walbvay from County Road B to the existing <br />sidewalk on the southwestern comer of the Target Building be constructed. <br /> <br />2. That a bicycle rack be placed in the building entrance area. <br /> <br />3. That the parking spaces be stripped. <br /> <br />4. That additional planters with landscaping be provided In the parking <br />lot. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Cushing, G. Johnson, Kellett, Mastel, Rukavina, Simons and <br />V. Jolmson. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 962 - Southland Corporation request for variance to rear yard <br />setback and number of parking spaces at 1909 Lexington Avenue <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Shatz> representing 7-11 Stores, indicated they propose to construct a <br />building on the property. The store would be a 35 x 70 one story brick structure. <br />He stated that they are seeking a variance from the required rear yard setback of <br />20 feet to a setback of 5 feet and a variance from the required 14 parking spaces <br />to 10 spaces. r~ indicated that the 7-11 Stores have found that the 10 spaces <br />would be more than sufficient for their needs. He indicated that they are <br />also proposing to have a self service gasoline island. There are presently <br />seventy 7-11 Stores in the ~vin City area, 7 of ~hich have gasoline service. He <br />stated that the investment for the facility would be in the area of $150,000 - <br />$170,000. r1r. Shatz indicated that the gas is a convenience to the customer <br />and that 7-11 does not sell gas at the cheapest price in the city. <br />
