<br />-7- <br /> <br />Recommendat ion <br /> <br />Mrc Go Johnson moved and Mrs. Cushing seconded, that the Commission reconunend approval <br />of Niemec & Burrow's request for rezoning from R-l to B-1 and B-2 at 2381 Rice Street, <br />and suggest that a 25 foot wide green area on the applicant's property be maintained <br />between Rice Street and the proposed parking lot and that the total east-west 1ength.of <br />the proposed building be limited to 160 feet. It is further suggested that the applicant <br />provide a letter to the City Council to that effect, Roll Call, Ayes: Mastel, Sjmons, <br />Cushing~ G Johnson) Kellett and V.Johnson. Nays: None. <br /> <br />PlaRning File 993 - Audio King, Inc. request for division of lot and variance to set <br />backs and parking at 1723 County Road B-2, <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Albert Kempf, owner of Audio" King , indicated that he proposed to construct a retail <br />building which will house one of his Audio-King retail stores, a Fred Anderson Decorating <br />Store and a third tenant tmknown at this time. He indicated that the building would be <br />finished on all four sides with brick and there would be no outside storage of rubbish, <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mro Mastel commented that he had seen Mro Kempf's building in Southdale and fotmd it to <br />be attractive, He felt this would be a good proposal to be located in Roseville. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />My, Hastel moved and Hr, Kellett seconded, that the Commission recommend approval of <br />AudIo-King's request for division of lot and variance to setback and parking at 1723 <br />County Road B-2, Roll Call, Ayes: Mastel, Simons, Cushing, G.Johnson, Kellett and V. <br />Johnson, Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 988 - Rosewood Village Apartments request for amended special use <br />Permit at 1690 Highway 36. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Jim London, representing the applicant, indicated that they proposed to remove a parking <br />lot located on the northeast portion of the property and replace it with a tennis court. <br />He stated that the tenants rarely used the parking lot. He felt it would be a nice <br />amenity for the tenants in the apartment complex. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mrs, Lucille Eng, 2213 Midlothian Road, indicated that when the apartment complex was <br />approved it had been promised there would be no parking by the apartment tenants on <br />Laurie Road,. She stated it is done regularly during the summer months, 4 or 5 cars a day. <br />In addition, when people are moving in and out of the apartments they go across the green <br />buffer strip north of Laurie Road and load and unload their furnishings. It was also <br />indicated that dogs owned by the apartment tenants are running through the neighborhood. <br />Mrs, Eng presented the Commission with a petition signed by residents in the area request- <br />ing that the apartment provide a continuous fence fram the southwest corner to the south- <br />east corner of Lot 1, Block 1, Rosewood Village, <br /> <br />My, London indicated that he did not see why a fence could not be constructed, <br />
