Nays: N:me. <br /> <br />Planning File 1037 - Paper Cal:rrenson request for variance to sign setback at <br />Highway 280 and TH 36 <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Colletti, representing Paper Cal:rrenson, indicated they propose to construct <br />a new sign on the corner of Highway 280 and County Road B to replace the existing sign. <br />The new sign would meet the height and size require:rrents. '!he variance is being <br />requested to the setback require:rrents. Mr. Colletti indicated that the new larger <br />sign is necessary because people have a difficult tine finding the entrance to Paper <br />Cal:rrenson. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mrs. Cushing suggested that perhaps a sign could be constructed on the southern portion <br />of the Paper Cal.Irenson property advising the Paper Cal:rrenson entrance was at County <br />Road B. It was concluded that this would be a possibility if the proposed new sign did <br />not accomplish the goal. <br /> <br />Reconmendation <br /> <br />Mr, Rukavina IIDved and Mr. Mastel seconded, that the commission recarmend approval of <br />Paper Calmenson's request for variance to sign setback at Highway 280 and Trunk Highway <br />360 Roll Call, Ayes: SiIrons, Mastel, Olshing, R.1kavina am Go Johnson. Nays: None 0 <br /> <br />Planning File 1039 Derata request. for special use permit at 1700 TH 36 <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. John Anderson, representing Derata indicated that the firm is a wholly owned sub- <br />sidiary of Cardiac Pacenakers, Inc. The firm was forrred to develop and market a <br />needle-less injector for use by people who need to give themselves regular injections <br />such as diabeticso He stated that no hazardous material would be used in the operation 0 <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mrs. Lucille Eng, 2213 Midlothian Road, stated that she had no cbjections to what was <br />proposed if there were no hazardous materials used cHow-ever, she was concerned that <br />there was too rmch lighting on the parking lot area to the south of the office building <br />and that it was spilling onto her propertYQ She was also concerned that the screening <br />of the southern portion of the office property was not canpleted as originally proposed. <br />A meeting with Mrso Eng, Mr. Carl Keller, Manager of the office building, and City staff <br />was established to discuss Mrs 0 Eng! s concerns. <br />
