<br />Planning File 1093 - _.ti.chels Construction Company re_ .;st for division of <br />lot and vacation of right-of-way at 1841 Huron <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Michels indicated they propose to divide the lot and construct a <br />horre on the newly created lot adjacent to Huron. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren corrrnented that an additional 10' of right-of-way was needed on <br />Hamline Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. George Spreigl, avner of the property, indicated he did not want to dedicate <br />10' of property. <br /> <br />Mr. V. Johnson stated that it has been the policy of the City for IMI1Y years <br />to ootain the necessary right-of-way for streets when a property ONIler divides <br />or plats his property. <br /> <br />Mr. Spreigl indicated that he did not want to divide his property and sell the <br />lot, but was forced to do it because of the over $6,000 in assesSITents received <br />for the street inprovement. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated that it was a corrrron practice in the rretropolitan area <br />to require the dedication of right-of-way when a property avner decides to do <br />sorrething with his property and that it has been a long standing policy in the <br />City of Roseville. <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina indicated that he agreed with Mr. Dahlgren but felt that this <br />property owner had been forced to sell his property because of the assessrrents <br />for the new street and that it would be an additional hardship if they had to <br />dedicate the 10'. <br /> <br />Mr. Honchell corrmented that the application also included a request for <br />vacation of approximately 14' of right-of-way on Huron which if approved <br />would be gi vento the property aYner. <br /> <br />Mr. Spreigl indicatErl that he did not intend to dedicate the 10' even if it <br />rreant that the division would not be approvErl. <br /> <br />RecOIl1'l'eIldation <br /> <br />Mr. G. Johnson rroved and Mr. Sirrons seconded, that the Corrmission recomrend <br />approval of Michels Construction Company request for division of lot and vac- <br />ation of right-of-way at 1841 Huron with the condition that 10' of additional <br />right-of-way be dedicated on Hamline Avenue. Roll Call, Pijes: Mastel, <br />G. Johnson, Sirrons and V. Johnson.
