Johnson Associates request for variance to building and parking setback and pennission to park on public right-of-way at 626 Larpenteur Avenue with the following conditions: 1. 'Ihat the storm water rnanagenent plan be approved by the City Engineer. 2. '!hat all proposed drives except the northernrcost and westernrcost entrances be closed. 3. 'Ihat inprovenent to the building front take place as shcMn on the plan as submitted. 4. '!hat the landscape plan be approved by the City Planner. He indicated in the past the=City had denied the use of this property for transport- ation activities enphasizing the desire to have the property utilized for ccmrercial activities. He did state, though, that possibly the Comnission nay wish to consider a:l:lmwd,ng a special use penni t for a period of one year so as to facilitate the school busing operation. Mr. Dahlgren noted that the proposed plan indicates an area extending 50 feet around the butane tank to the westerly property. '!he Fire Marshal has indicated his desire that no buses be parked within this area and also that a 30 foot fire land be nain- tained at all tirres. Mr. Fegan, President of St. Paul & Suburban Bus Canpany stated that recently his company had been awarded the contract for providing bus services to the Ibseville School District. He indicated his intent to store and operate approximately 120 buses from this site and also his desire to be located within the carm..mity. Discussion Mr. V. Johnson asked if the applicant would be leasing the property and if so if he would be agreeable to a one year penni t. Mr. Fegan stated that he was leasing.and would be agreeable to one year providing it was subject t6 review after the first year with the possibility of continuance. Mr. G. Johnson asked if any inprovements C>I:' alterations to the site were necessary. Mr. Fegan stated that the site would be used in its present state.
