He voiced concern about the location of the proposed tennis courts <br />and indicated the neighbors were concerned about potential noise and <br />lights during the evening hours. <br /> <br />3. He indicated that Dr. Bernstein had told him that the M:!tropo1itan <br />MJsqui toe Control District had asked for an entrance from the east <br />side of the property. Mr. Albertson stated that he had talked to the <br />MJsquitoe Control District and that they had not nade such a request. <br /> <br />4. He indicated concern about using up the land area in the Rosevi11e part <br />of the Northwestern College property. He asked if it would be necessary <br />to some day have the Fine Arts Center in the Rosevi11e portion if Arden <br />Hills does not approve. <br /> <br />5. He indicated the neighbors were concerned about the noise during con- <br />struction. He asked that electric cranes rather than diesel cranes be <br />used and that other noise reduction methods be considered. <br /> <br />6. He indicated that he saw the need for a left turn signal at Lydia and <br />Snelling. <br /> <br />Mr. Gene Cordich, representing Northwestern College, responded to the concerns <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1. He indicated that there is parking available in other areas of the <br />canpus including the Arden Hills property and that the college felt there <br />would be sufficient parking. <br /> <br />2. The tennis courts are shown on the plan but the college does not feel it <br />is a natter that they want to die on. He stated they are not tied to the <br />proposed location and that the courts, if constructed, would not be lighted. <br /> <br />3. He indicated that he knew very little about the contacts wit the MJsquitoe <br />Control District regarding the road to the east, but that the college was <br />not interested in having a road entering the property from the east. <br /> <br />4. He stated that at this point the question of the Fine Arts Center being <br />buil t in Arden Hills is in the courts and that the college is planning on <br />building the center on the Arden Hills portion of the property. <br /> <br />5. '!he contractor representing the college indicated that he was not familiar <br />with the electric cranes, but that he would look into it. <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina indicated that he was approached by an Arden Hills councilnan <br />who asked him to express concern about the developrrent at the Cornnission rreeting. <br /> <br />Mr. V. Johnson asked if there as a representative fran Arden Hills in the audience, <br />and there as none. <br /> <br />Mr. M::Guire indicated that the sanitary sewer line in Lydia which serves the <br />college nay not have sufficient capacity to handle the additional dormitory. <br />He stated that there have been some prcb1em:; with the sewer in the past. He <br />indicated that the Public Works Department would like to have the estinated <br />sewage contributed from the dormitories provided by the developer so that a <br />decision could be made whether the existing sewer is large enough. <br />
