If a person were unable to find a parking space in one of <br />the aisles, he would have to back up in order to get out. He also oomrented <br />that the landscaping plan was not very imaginative and suggested they review <br />the type of p1antings being used. <br /> <br />Mr. Pope indicated that he agreed with the carment on the traffic flew and <br />that they would change the design to:::connect the two aisles. <br /> <br />Mr. M::Guire indicated that an additional 30 feet of right-of-way would be <br />required for Judith. <br /> <br />Mr. Rukavina noted that rrost of the building would not be accessible to the <br />fire dePa.r"tment from the parking lot. He saw particular problems for fire fight- <br />ing from the west side of the building. <br /> <br />Mr. Pope indicated that there would be srroke detectors in each of the units <br />and that the baserren.t would be sprink1ered. <br /> <br />Mrs. Cushing indicated that she could not support this new proposal. She felt <br />that the original proposal approved in 1978, was a better plan. <br /> <br />RecOl'meIldation <br /> <br />Mr. G. Johnson noved and Mr. Sirrons seconded, that the Conmission recomrend <br />approval of Steinworth and Coverdale's request for special use permit at 1420 <br />Terrace Drive with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. That the deve10prrent be constructed substantially as shCM'l on <br />plans dated January 30, 1979, except that the parking lot be <br />redesigned to include a looping of the aisles on the eastern <br />portion of the property and that the final landscaping plan be <br />reviewed and approved by the City Planner. <br /> <br />2. '!hat an additional 30 feet of right-of-way be dedicated on Judith. <br /> <br />Mr. SiIrons indicate1 that he was still concerne1 about the <br />accessibility for the fire deparb11ent to the west side of the <br />building. <br /> <br />Mr. Sirrons noved and Mr. Rukavina seconded, that the notion be <br />anended to include Condition No.3. <br /> <br />3. '!hat the grading on the west side of the apartnent building be <br />re-examined to dete:rroine if there is adequate access for fire <br />departIrent vehicles. <br /> <br />Roll Call on the anendIrent: Ayes: G.
