Planning Commission Minutes
February 1, 1984
-3-

Bob Metz, 698 County Road C, indicated Mr. Borgstrom does not favor the road
extension as indicated by Mr. Kehr. He also commented that ~1r. Buss, owner
of the adjacent property west of Mr. Kehr's, is in Arizona, but has expressed
his opposition to the proposed development.

Mr. North indicated a letter had been received from Mrs. Buss expressing her
opposition to the request for rezoning. She stated she was under the impression
that all the buildings would be to the rear of the lot.

Mr. Dahlgren stated that if the roadway was not extended to the east, then a
cul-de-sac should be built, and perhaps the number of units would need to be
decreased. He stated the staff has stressed the importance of the agreement
of the property owners to the road extension.

Mr. Ed Salverda asked how much it would cost to extend the driveway, and if
the City would assume maintenance.

Mr. Honchell indicated the cost would be approximately $100 a running foot.
He commented the City would not assume any responsibility for the maintenance
because it would be a private driveway.

Mr. Rukavina asked if a cul-de-sac were built changing the development proposal,
what would happen to the planned unit development being considered by the
Commission.

Mr. Dahlgren indicated the planned unit development would need to be changed to
incorporate any changes in the cul-de-sac.

Margarat Lacke, real estate agent handling the sale of this property in the past,
commented she had found the parcel too large to be sold for single-family use.

Fred Booth, resident at the southwest corner of County Road C and Dale Street,
indicated he had signed to approve the duplex adjacent to him several years
ago. He indicated that was the worst decision he ever made. He said a lot
of promises were made, but were not kept.

Jim Fau, 2883 Cohansey, asked a variety of questions for clarification of
previous points. He stated he was concerned about the development being
compatible with adjacent property. He indicated the development looks good,
appears quite similar to single-family, and he would hope the Commission would
address all concerns of the neighborhood.

Mr. Wiski commented the development looks like a townhouse plan, and asked why
the townhouse zone R-6 wasn't used for the rezoning, rather than R-2.
