<br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />-5- <br /> <br />DeBenedet asked what the right-of-way situation lS on Larpenteur. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated he had not checked for right-of-way needs on Larpenteur. <br /> <br />Dressler suggested the Commission should continue its action until the <br />applicant is present. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Dressler moved and Moeller seconded that the Planning Commission continue <br />Roselawn Cemetery's request for preliminary plat at 803 Larpenteur to the <br />July regular meeting of the Commission. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: DeBenedet, Berry, Dressler, Moeller, Matson, and Wiski. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1498 - Shorewood Corporation request for amendment to the comprehensive <br />land use plan from medium density residential to high density <br />residential at 2231 Rice. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren indicated the applicant has combined two pieces of property and <br />proposes a 6l-uni t apartment proj ect. The proposed number of units requires an <br />amendment to the comprehensive land use plan to high density residential. <br /> <br />Dahlgren indicated several neighbors have expressed <br />easement to the west for access onto Marion Street. <br />has been proposed for the development which removes <br />for emergency vehicle access. <br /> <br />concern about the use of an <br />He indicated a cul-de-sac <br />the need to use the easement <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Dressler indicated she was concerned about the traffic to be generated on <br />Rice Street by the development. She asked whether the State could do <br />something to enable Rice Street to better handle the traffic. <br /> <br />Dahlgren indicated the State is responsible for providing for the handling of <br />traffic on Rice Street. <br /> <br />Moeller asked Gordie Howe, the representative of Shorewood Corporation, about <br />the elevation of the houses on Hinnesota versus the proposed building. <br /> <br />Mr. Howe indicated the proposed buildings are below the elevation of Minnesota <br />Street. <br />
