Roseville Planning Commission Minutes
April 9, 1986

Page 7

Maschka moved to table the request until the May 7 Planning
Commission meeting. Johnson seconded the motion.

Roll Call, Ayes: DeBenedet, Goedeke, Johnson, Maschka, Moeller,
and Wiski.
Nays: None.

Moeller asked that while this is being reconsidered, the College
take a close look at eliminating the pathway along the residences.
DeBenedet stated his concerns regarding access in and out of the
site, and that modification should be considered there. Goedeke
agreed that the west entrance deserves more of an analysis.
Demos pointed out that the current exit is dangerous in terms of
visibility.

Planning File 1651
Jim Edlund request for Special Use Permit and variance at 2049 N.
snelling.

Presentation
Mr. Dahlgren explained the site, and how the current P.U.D. is
laid out on the site. Mr. Dahlgren showed the Planning Commission
members that the P.U.D. basically relates to a five foot setback
versus a fifteen foot setback, which allows the increased parking
to be placed further away from the adjacent property owner.

Mr. Edlund discussed the project, and again pointed out how the
variance was needed in light of the fact that he wants to keep
the parking lot away from his neighbor's parcel.

DeBenedet moved, Johnson seconded, that the Edlund request for a
Special Use Permit and variance at 2049 N. Snelling be approved.

Roll Call, Ayes: DeBenedet, Goedeke, Johnson, Maschka, Moeller,
and Wiski.
Nays: None.

Planning File 1652
United Federal Bank request for sign variance at 1715 W. County
Road B-2.

Presentation
Mr. Dahlgren discussed the location of the new sign, and pointed
out that this is a new owner. The facility was previously owned
by First Federal, which has now moved into headquarters on
Larpenteur, based on a merger. Dahlgren pointed out that the
Ordinance does not allow flashing signs; thus the request is a
variance to the prohibition of flashing signs. However, the bank
will only allow time, temperature, and a thirteen minute message;
thus the traveling message will not be allowed.
