Dahlgren
replied that yes, decks, ramps, stoops, etc., could be in the
setback as long as they didn't go beyond the first floor level.

DeBenedet asked what type of screening there was with respect to
the adjacent neighbor. Luzaich replied that a metal type bumper
was there today, but a fence would also be utilized.

Moeller asked how the ramp was elevated. Janisch replied that
the ramp essentially folds around the side of the building.

DeBenedet asked as to whether the building was all brick. Luzaich
replied that part was brick and part was redwood siding. Dahl-
gren replied that he was under the impression that the building
was going to be all brick, and that the four sides should be
similar. He pointed out that the City does not allow a back or
front of a building. Luzaich replied that he would then do
redwood around the whole building. Councilman Kehr suggested
that the applicant consider Revere steel siding on the develop-
ment.

Goedeke stated that he was in favor of cleaning up this whole
area.

Goedeke moved, DeBenedet seconded, that the Peter
request for variance at 2393 Rice Street be approved
following conditions:

S.
