Roseville Planning Commission Minutes
July 1, 1987

Page 3

Cushman stated her concerns with respect to the flow of traffic
in the area, and also asked for a clarification as to where the
entrances and exits on the Mall were, and how they related to the
new construction. Vogel proceeded to point out the entrances
relating to the new facilities.

Cushman also stated her concern with respect to the different
construction and colored materials used on the Mall now, and as
to whether it could be tied together in a more aesthetic package.
Vogel stated that the new building would attempt to pick up a
combination from all of the different construction types.

Berry reiterated her concern that the buffer zone had really been
neglected over the years, and needs some substantial work.

Audrey Coulter, 1971 Simpson, asked for clarification as to how
the doors would be constructed on the south side of the facility.
Vogel replied they would be constructed the same as originally
proposed on the east. He also pointed out that the buffer area
on the south side would be enhanced.

Jim Thompson asked about the lighting in the area. Vogel replied
that the heads would be replaced on the east and west areas of
the Mall, and new box (directional lights) would be placed on the
southern area.

John Wooley, 1455 Burke, stated that he would like some plantings
around the existing apartment.

Ms. Keller, 1440 Belmont, thanked Har Mar for modifying the plan,
and working so diligently with the neighborhood.

Bernie Warner, 1455 Ryan, stated that he wanted better mainte-
nance in the area. Johnson replied that was a City Code enforce-
ment problem. The City is making an improved effort in that
area.

John Quernemoen, 1950 Arona, stated his concern about the mainte-
nance in the corner areas. Johnson stated that those corner
entrance areas should probably be blacktopped.

Mr. Thompson stated again that the restoration of the buffer is
critical.

DeBenedet asked what the budget was with respect to the develop-
ment. Gary Jackson replied, $5 million.

John Moriarity discussed the general drainage situation in the
area.

Johnson pointed out this project was an excellent example of the
neighborhood and developer working together.

Moeller stated his concern that he is not convinced that a forty-
five foot high sign is really required.
