ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

Paget 11

Wednesday, May 3, 1989

DeBenedet inquired about who would pay for the additional turn
lane off of Fairview.

Keel responded that the city is considering using tax increment
funds for traffic related improvements in the area.

DeBenedet asked what the Minnesota Department of Transportation's
opinion is on widening of the turn ramp.

Keel stated that the City has had no discussions with MNDOT.

DeBenedet asked if the pylon sign would stay the same. The
architect responded that yes it would.

DeBenedet asked about the exterior of the new Dayton's store.

The Architect for Dayton's responded that that has not been
determined yet. McChane stated that the design of the Dayton's
store would have to come back to the City for approval.

DeBenedet asked how trash would be handled.

McChane stated that trash would be handled as it is currently and
that there be one new dock added plus the new Dayton's store.
McChane stated that there would be similar screening to what
exists now.

Goedeke stated that there have been three traffic reports done
for projects in the area and there appear to be different
numbers. Goedeke stated that he is concerned that the numbers
being presented are not accurate.

Johnson stated that the traffic situation will not ever work
better than we now have and that the city has to accept that.

Koski stated that all the consultants work together on
studies, all used each others work, and that they used the
numbers.

the
same

Keel pointed out that the Welsh Company used a different peak
hour than the Rosedale Center.

Berry stated that she appreciated the Police comments. Berry
pointed out that the lighting is critical and that the idea of
uniform security patrol is good but the personnel must be
carefully screened. Berry stated that an irregular patrol may be
better.
