<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />pagei17 <br /> <br />Wednesday, May 3, 1989 <br /> <br />Johnson thanked Mooney and Nisja for their input. <br /> <br />Planninq File 1938 <br /> <br />Lincoln Company's request for a variance to sign size <br />requirements at the Rosedale Square Shopping Center at 1665 w. <br />County Road C. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Dahlgren summarized the sign variance request. <br /> <br />Matt Rieger from Lincoln Companies was present to answer <br />questions. <br /> <br />No citizens appeared concerning this matter. <br /> <br />Johnson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Maschka moved and DeBenedet seconded to recommend approval of the <br />sign size variance request for the Rosedale Square Shopping <br />Center at 1665 W. County Road C with the condition that no <br />additional pylon signs be constructed on the site. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Berry, Goedeke, Maschka, <br />Stokes, Johnson <br /> <br />DeBenedet, <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Johnson distributed the action plan put together by staff. <br /> <br />Stokes mentioned that he had been approached by a hardware store <br />owner concerned about their requirement for a $1000 special use <br />permit fee for outside storage. <br /> <br />Johnson pointed out that the city Council has not approved the <br />proposed ordinance amendment concerning outside storage yet and <br />there was no $1000 fee requirement. <br /> <br />Kehr stated that existing businesses should not be penalized and <br />should be grand fathered in. He stated that good businesses are <br />being driven into the ground. Kehr pointed out that this matter <br />will be discussed at the upcoming work session. <br /> <br />Johnson stated the intent was a one time fee to cover paper work <br />costs and it was not the intent of Commission to drive good <br />businesses into the ground. <br />
