ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

Paget 5

Wednesday, May 3, 1989

Self asked if the area would be restored to its original
condition.

Keel responded that it would.

Johnson asked if this was the only option for looping the water
line.

Keel responded that other options would be available.

Howe pointed out that the water line could be looped to the south
but that would not benefit the property owners on Ryan Avenue.

Keel stated that another option would be to just over size the
main to serve this particular development.

Larry Rice, son of Myra Rice, 1957 Roselawn, stated that it is
important to loop the water lines and that the neighborhood would
benefit from it.

Leroy JurI, 1985 Autumn, asked if the new street would line up
with Autumn Street on the south.

Howe responded that the new street would be directly across from
Autumn.

Johnson closed the public hearing.

Johnson stated that she would like to see the water line looped.

DeBenedet stated that the water line looping and the 90 degree
curve in the street are important issues that need to be
addressed. DeBenedet continued that an agreement should be
reached tonight on these issues or the matter should be tabled
for a month to allow the issues to be worked out.

Berry stated the concern that the 90 degree curve would not be
safe.

Dahlgren pointed out that the curb could be made more gentle but
that in one sense, sharper corners are safer because it reduces
the speed of the cars. Dahlgren added that a gentler curve would
have less sight vision problems. Dahlgren stated that the
Commission could put a condition on the approval to require that
the curve be made more gentle.

DeBenedet stated that there is no resolution on the water line
