<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />Page1/: 2 <br /> <br />Wednesday, April 4, 1990 <br /> <br />Dahlgren summarized the site location, history of the property, <br />and the requested variance to parking setback and curb <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Keel stated that the minimum parking setback requirement for the <br />City of Roseville is 15 feet and this property does not meet the <br />requirement. <br /> <br />Keel added that the maximum driveway width requirement for the <br />City of Roseville is 26 feet and these driveways exceed the <br />maximum width. <br /> <br />Keel summarized the drainage patterns of the parking lot. <br /> <br />Wietecki questioned the width of the driveways. Keel stated that <br />the driveways vary in width from approximately 34 to 48 feet. <br />Berry questioned what the city's policy is concerning parking <br />lots. <br /> <br />wietecki questioned if the southeast corner of the property has <br />a paved right-of-way. Keel replied that the right-of-way is <br />paved on this portion of the property. <br /> <br />Goedeke questioned if the residents across the street from the <br />property have had problems with drainage. Keel replied that the <br />Ci ty has received no complaints from the residents across the <br />street from the property about drainage problems. <br /> <br />James Greenstein, a trustee from st. Rose of Lima was present to <br />represent st. Rose. Greenstein reviewed the history of the site <br />including the construction of buildings and the parking lot. <br />Greenstein commented that the church cannot afford to make any <br />parking lot alterations at the present time and are facing a <br />possible year end deficit. He added that this is the reason for <br />their variance request. <br /> <br />Goedeke questioned if the variance is not granted, will the <br />handicapped parking suffer. Goedeke added that he does not like <br />the present appearance of those spaces. <br /> <br />Greenstein replied that they would lose a portion of their <br />handicapped spaces and there is already a shortage of parking. <br /> <br />Johnson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Johnson suggested that the Commission require that this site come <br />into compliance within 5 years. <br />
