ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

Paget 4

Wednesday, June 6, 1990

DeBenedet stated that it is important to set a good precedent on
sidewalk requirements so that open sidewalk is provided and
maintained where reasonable. DeBenedet pointed out that in
general you don't have to bring buildings up to handicap code
until changes are made to the building.

Johnson testified that the City needs to treat each outside
storage request individually but that some consistency still
needs to be maintained. Johnson suggested that this matter be
continued another 30 days to allow alternative sidewalk designs
to be looked at.

MOTION

DeBenedet moved and Berry seconded to continue consideration of
this matter until the regular July Planning Commission meeting.

Roll Call:

Ayes:

stokes, DeBenedet, Wietecki, Berry,
Goedeke, Johnson

Nayes:

Roberts

Goedeke stated that they should look at their trash container
design and location also.

Planning File 2060

Super America Group, Inc. request for approval of Special Use
Permit for exterior display of merchandise at 2172 Lexington
Avenue North.

Presentation

Shardlow summarized the site location and the proposed outside
merchandising and display. Shardlow pointed out that there are no
particular problems on the site except for the wood display which
limited pedestrian accessibility.

DeBenedet questioned if the applicant was notified of the issues
from the previous meeting. Jopke stated that they were notified.

Kaup stated that he was not sure what the issue with the wood
was. DeBenedet replied that you can't get from the parking
stalls to the entrance because of the blue cart.

Mark Erickson stated that this was a mobile bird food center
which has been removed.
