<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wednesday September 5, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />Berry stated that these homes are good. Johnson commented that <br />she wants to see this type of housing constructed but that the <br />views of the neighborhood needs to be taken into consideration as <br />well. <br /> <br />Goedeke withdrew his motion and Berry agreed. <br /> <br />Shardlow stated that it is important to make clear that the <br />neighborhood doesn't have final say on this matter. Shardlow <br />stated that this proposal is consistent with current city policy. <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Goedeke moved and Berry seconded to recommend continuation of <br />this matter until October 3, 1990 to allow the developer to work <br />with the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Berry, Goedeke, Johnson, Stokes <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />Roberts, wietecki <br /> <br />Kettler stated that there is not much time for construction. He <br />questioned whether the process could be speeded up. <br /> <br />Jopke stated that they could ask the Council to bring up this <br />proposal at the first meeting after the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Planninq File 2158 <br /> <br />Joseph Linton request for a special use permit for the expansion <br />of an automobile repair use and to allow rental of vehicles on <br />the site at 2989 Rice street. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Shardlow presented proposal and pointed out that the existing <br />building would be expanded and curb cuts would be closed. The <br />concrete canopy would be removed and a hard surface location in <br />the back would be allow room for four rental trucks. Shardlow <br />stated that there is a holding pond in the SW corner of lot and <br />that it functions properly. The proposal asks to maintain light <br />standards and to maintain existing pylon signs. <br /> <br />Keel commented that the site plan doesn't show sidewalk on Owasso <br />and Rice. He also stated that storm sewer catch basins will be <br />needed at both entrances. <br /> <br />Joe Linton, the owner, stated he wants to upgrade in order to <br />serve his customers better. Nelson, the architect stated that <br />sidewalks weren't included because he didn't know about the <br />
