<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wednesday September 5, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />Johnson questioned the age range of the patrons. Theisen stated <br />that mostly teenagers would visit center. Theisen stated that it <br />would be an upscale center, for the family, with games of skill <br />and opportunities to win prizes. Johnson questioned whether the <br />age range included 16 and older. Theisen answered that it would <br />be the same age range as those who attended movies, from 13 on <br />up. <br /> <br />Berry testified that she was troubles about hours and the noise <br />caused afterward. She questioned how it was different from the <br />arcade at Har Mar Mall. Theisen replied that it is upscale, with <br />good supervision. He stated that they operate in st. Cloud, <br />Albert Lea and elsewhere, with good references. Berry questioned <br />how they differ. Theisen stated that they own the machines, no <br />smoking is allowed, and that they run a good, clean operation. <br /> <br />Stokes questioned what the term "well staffed" meant. <br />stated that it meant adults, uniformed, well trained. <br />stated that there would be one staff person, maybe two <br />nights. <br /> <br />Theisen <br />He al so <br />on busy <br /> <br />Lindgren, a neighbor stated that he wasn't notified of public <br />hearing. Jopke stated that a letter was sent to all property <br />owners within 350 feet of site based on the certified list <br />provided. The city made a good faith effort to contact those <br />property owners therefore, the Commission could legally proceed. <br /> <br />Shardlow and Keel scaled out 350 on map and determined that some <br />property owners were not notified. <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Goedeke moved and Berry seconded that this matter be continued to <br />October 3, 1990 and that notices be reissued. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Berry, Goedeke, Johnson, Roberts, <br />Stokes, wietecki <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Berry stated that there has been trouble with the title company <br />that provided the certified list before. <br /> <br />Stokes stated that Theisen should bring pictures next month and <br />work with staff on hours of operation. <br /> <br />Mike Pederson, a neighbor, stated that the 350 foot ruling should <br />be waived and all homeowners on the souths ide of Oakcrest be <br />notified. <br />
