<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wednesday November 7, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />DeBenedet moved and Goedeke seconded to continue consideration of <br />this matter until December 5, 1990 and to ask the city Council to <br />provide direction to the commission concerning the disposition of <br />the adjacent tax forfeited park property and potential <br />development opportunities of the adjacent property to the west as <br />well. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Berry, DeBenedet, Goedeke, Johnson, <br />wietecki <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />Roberts, Stokes <br /> <br />Planninq File 2064 <br /> <br />Suburban True Value request for a special use permit for outside <br />sales and display of merchandise at 1930 No. Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Shardlow presented a sketch of the site and stated that the <br />review criteria when looking at outside display of merchandise <br />are amount of sales space, location and encroachment of sales <br />space, impact on pedestrians, impact on parking, height, hours, <br />and type of merchandise. <br /> <br />Mr. Earvin of Suburban True Value stated that the merchandise to <br />be displayed would be lawnmowers in the spring and summer and <br />snowblowers in the fall and winter. Earvin stated that these <br />items comprise five percent of the sales and are kept in a neat <br />and orderly fashion. <br /> <br />Johnson questioned the hours of display. Earvin replied that <br />hours would be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8:00 <br />a.m. to 5:00 on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. <br />Earvin stated that they would not be left out overnight and that <br />the lawnmowers and snowblowers would be the only items displayed <br />outside. <br /> <br />Berry stated that merchandise blocks one of the doors. Earvin <br />stated that this door was permanently locked shut. Goedeke asked <br />whether this conformed to fire codes. Earvin stated that the <br />Fire Inspectors don't have a problem with it. <br /> <br />Dick Houck, a neighbor, stated that this was a nice store and <br />that the display is necessary for business. Johnson stated that <br />she understood this and that they go through this process so <br />it's on file for code enforcement. <br /> <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />
