8

ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION
Wednesday, December 5, 1990

addressed in shorter than 18 months.

DeBenedet questioned what would happen if the special use permit
was approved for the monument signs with the condition that
criteria be developed and then an impasse on development of the
criteria occurs. Would the signs then be removed?

Shardlow stated that the city could not go back and require the
removal of the signs, but he added that the sign ordinance is
under review and in all likelihood will require uniform criteria
for all multitenant centers.

Goedeke questioned whether existing signage at the Center would
be grand fathered in and not subject to the new requirements.

Shardlow stated that he did not feel they would be grand fathered
in.

DeBenedet questioned what a reasonable time frame might be.
Shardlow responded six months.

MOTION

Roberts moved to recommend approval, with the condition that a
full sign package be presented within six months.

DeBenedet
criteria.

asked if the motion would require a uniform sign
Roberts said it did not.

The motion died for lack of a second.

MOTION

DeBenedet moved and Berry seconded to recommend approval of
Tanurb Development's request for a special use permit for an
amended site plan and variance to allow construction of two
monument signs at the Rosedale Commons Shopping Center at 2480
Fairview Avenue North, with the following conditions:
1.
