<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />April 14, 1993 <br /> <br />page# <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Harms moved and Sandstrom seconded a motion to continue Computer <br />City/Beechwood Acquisitions, Inc. request for special use permit <br />and variance to the required setback on an outlot located in front <br />of the Roseville Crossroads Shopping Center at County Road B-2 nd <br />Snelling Avenue to the May 12, 1993 Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Roberts, Thomas, Harms, <br />Sandstrom, Wietecki <br /> <br />Wall, <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Planning Files 2507 <br /> <br />Patricia Curtiss request for special use permit at Aldine Street. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Shardlow highlighted the proposal. <br /> <br />Curtiss summarized the reasons for her need to open the business in <br />her home. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Issues discussed included ordinance requirements, hours of <br />operation, number of days the business would be operated, and <br />potential signage. <br /> <br />Citizens <br /> <br />Bob Mooney, the adjacent property owner, testified that the impact <br />of this use would be greater than other neighborhoods because there <br />were only five houses on the block. He pointed out that he was <br />worried about the future of that area and there appears to be no <br />protection in the ordinance. <br /> <br />Alfred Nier, 2001 N. Aldine St., stated he was concerned about <br />protecting the residential character of the neighborhood. Mr. Nier <br />stated that signs are not in character of the neighborhood and this <br />proposal would open up the neighborhood to more traffic. <br /> <br />Margaret Smith, 1706 Ryan, indicated that they had submitted a <br />petition to reach a middle ground and to protect the future value <br />of the neighborhood. The petition contains suggested restrictions <br />including that there be no sign of any kind on the property, that <br />the owner shall not be permitted to hire other employees, and that <br />her customer's cars must be parked in the driveway. <br /> <br />Maurice Moe, 1710 Ridgewood Lane, stated that the proposed use <br />would add traffic to the residential area, that customer parking <br />
