ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION
June 9, 1993

Pagel

7

also stated that the church could work with the city to obtain
parking variances.

Phylis Beaudet, 5723 Turtle Lake Rd., stated that a lot of non-
resident church members do drive in and do considerable business in
Roseville which is a benefit to the community.

Jimmy Bohl, 1181 Ryan Avenue, said he was too old to play in his
own yard and needs a larger space at the park.

Sherry Ketov, stated that statistics show that there would be no
more people to go to the church.

Mary Bohl, 1181 Ryan Avenue, stated that the church could move
Sunday School to a different night to avoid parking problems. Mrs.
Bohl indicated that she has sacrificed to live in Roseville by the
park, that it was a safe location, not on a busy street, and that
the park has been very beneficial to her family and to the
neighborhood.

wietecki stated that there appeared to be three options which the
Planning Commission could consider including making a specific
recommendation on whether or not the City council should approve
the approved land swap, recommend types of issues which the Council
should consider in making its decision, or to provide no further
recommendations.

It was the consensus of the Commission that the Commission should
recommend types of issues which the Council should consider in
making its decision on this matter.

The Planning Commission meeting recessed at 10:00 p.m.

The Planning Commission meeting reconvened at 10:18 p.m.

Thomas moved and Roberts seconded a motion to recommend that the
City Council consider the following list of issues and questions
when it is making a decision on this matter.

1. Demographics of the city should be considered and compared to
the Park space available in the general proximity.

2 The Council needs to consider the value of vest pocket parks
versus full athletic facilities.

3. That green space and parks are important but so are other uses
such as schools, churches, and community activities.

4. vista 2000 findings should be considered.

5. The impact on the City's Tax Base needs to be considered
because of the loss of developable land at Lexington and B.
