Sara Wright, 1712 Eldridge, asked how the shared parking would be used in the evening during the summer when softball players park in the church lot and use the park across Fairview Avenue. Jensen responded that the entire parking lot will be realigned and restriped to reduce racing vehicles through the parking lot. Member Rengel asked why the developer didn't buy more land from the church in order to provide parking on the site instead of provide a shared parking area? Karen Lucas, 1863 Skillman, stated that the spill-over of parking creates land values that should be taxed appropriately. Ching Lee, 1842 Eldridge, expressed concern over the safety of school children adjacent to the parking area. Qwen Pedigry, 1751 Skillman, asked the Commission to clarify what constitutes the grounds for a requested rezoning. Greg Goggins, 1812 Eldridge, asked the Commission if it was correct to rezone the R-l zone in light of the proposed higher density residential uses which may be constructed in the Twin Lakes area 1.5 miles to the north along F airview Avenue. Bud Kantfy, 2025 Fairview, expressed concern over the busyness of Fairview Avenue and expressed concern regarding safety of children near the road system. Kit Powell, Waldorf School, expressed concern regarding the parking spaces available for the school and children in the lot. She also expressed concern regarding the noise, the morning rush hour in the parking lot, and the loss of green space.
