<br />Planning Commission Meeting Minutes <br />April 13, 1994 <br /> <br />Dawna LongenDyke, 649 West County Road C, asked for clarification <br />regarding who the consultants work for. She also expressed concern <br />regarding the east-west road system and how it would enter to Dale Street. <br />She asked if this road system through the Salverda property has been <br />evaluated for road capacity. Lon Aune responded that no borings have been <br />done. <br /> <br />An unidentified speaker stated that he was opposed to higher density <br />development in the area because of traffic and lack of sidewalks. He <br />recommended low density development near the parks because of the <br />congestion and aesthetics, run-off, and parking areas. <br /> <br />Keith Ofelt, 746 Wheaton Avenue, expressed concern regarding whether this <br />project would continue to the north across County Road C. He also <br />expressed concern about the ability of fire equipment to gain access to the <br />streets in the Kehr development. <br /> <br />Judy Maccanelli, 793 Rose Place, expressed concern about the street and <br />traffic. She also stated she was opposed to high-rises and townhomes <br />adjacent to a park because neither development would have any yard space <br />and would use the City park for recreation and yard purposes. <br /> <br />Karen Foster, 675 County Road C, asked'the Commission if a comprehensive <br />plan land use change automatically began the process for rezoning. She <br />asked why the Planning Commission would consider planning a townhouse <br />development in the middle of a block. <br /> <br />John Brockman, 2581 Irene Street, opposed the project. <br /> <br />John Maslan, 799 Rose Place, opposed the land use change and stated there <br />are enough apartments and traffic in the area already without the addition of <br />townhouses. <br /> <br />Jim Eichten, 757 Rose Place, stated that he moved to Rose Place because of <br /> <br />5 <br />
