City of Roseville Planning Commission Minutes
Wednesday, June 8, 1994
MINUTES
(d)Planning File 2667
Naftalia Alkali request for a special use permit for an automobile repair facility at 3114
North Lexington Avenue. City Planner, Michael Falk, explained that the applicant has
requested that the public hearing be continued until the regular July meeting of the City
Planning Commission.
Motion:
Member Thomas moved, seconded by Member Wall, to continue case
2667 until July 13, 1994.
Roll Call:Ayes:Sandstrom, Rengel, Thomas, Wall, Wietecki, Harms,
Roberts
Nayes:None
(e)Planning File 2669
The Ramsey County Household Hazardous Waste Disposal request for an extension of
their existing interim use permit at Kent Street, north of Larpenteur Avenue, and east of
Dale Street.
Chairman Keith Wietecki opened the public hearing and requested Michael Falk to
provide a background report regarding the modifications to the site as proposed by
Ramsey County. Chairman Wietecki clarified that the city is not liable for improvements
placed on a site when given an interim use permit.
Michael Falk explained that Ramsey County requests changes to the conditions of the
interim use permit to allow more hours and days; the bulking of flammable materials; a
location for the exchange of latex paint; information signs and directional signs to be left
up on the sight when the site is open for prolonged periods; an interim use permit for 5
years instead of 2 years. Mr. Falk noted the city has received no complaints regarding this
location and use, and stated that the staff recommend approval of the interim use permit.
Chairman Wietecki asked if the city had inspected for contamination and monitoring. Mr.
Falk responded the city has not inspected.
Member Thomas asked if landscaping had been completed to block the view from the
cemetery. Member Wall asked if Larpenteur Avenue is to be upgraded within the next 5
years. What are the plans that would effect this site.
7
