<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8,1995 <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki expressed concern that the next user of the SUP not be retail <br />customers. <br /> <br />Member Wall asked if there would be a paint booth on site? (Yes.) Hours of <br />operation? (Two shifts until 2 a.m. in morning; 5 days/week.) <br /> <br />Comments from the public: None. <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki closed the hearing. <br /> <br />Motion: <br /> <br />Member Thomas moved, seconded by Chairman Wietecki to recommend <br />approval of Abra, Inc., special use permit for wholesale auto fleet work <br />with three conditions: <br /> <br />(1) Limited to fleet repair with no retail activity, <br />(2) No outside storage shall be permitted, and <br />(3) Will have a paint booth inside the building which meets all State, <br />federal, and local air and environmental quality regulations. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Wall, Harms, Rengel, Thomas, Sandstrom, Wietecki <br /> <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Planning File 2721: Signcrafters, Inc. request for a variance to the zoning <br />ordinance at 2105 North Snelling Avenue. <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki opened the hearing and requested Mike Falk to provide <br />background report. <br /> <br />Arby's, 2105 N. Snelling Avenue, request an electronic silent radio system sign <br />12"x72" over the drive-thru window to provide messages to customers who have <br />ordered at Arby's. Staff recommended approval of the variance allowing <br />messages to change more than once every 24 hours for the silent radio system. <br /> <br />Member Wall stated he can determine no hardship, and asked if the City should <br />change the code to reflect this technology. <br /> <br />Chairman Wietecki stated the sign ordinance should be amended.
