Planning File 3258. A request by Dick Maser for a conditional use permit to allow construction of a detached garage,
1008 square feet in size, on property located at 2916 Woodbridge Street.

Chair Klausing opened the hearing and requested City Planner Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal summary of the
project report dated September 13, 2000.

Thomas Paschke stated Dick Maser was applying for a conditional use permit to construct a 42 foot by 24 foot (1008
square foot) three stall detached garage and as it was over 864 square feet in accordance with Section 1004.01 A of the
Zoning Code required a conditional use permit. The garage is to replace a 26-foot by 22-foot (572 square foot) two stall
detached garage. Mr. Paschke also advised Mr. Maser's proposal met the impervious surface requirement as well as the
read yard coverage requirement. Mr. Paschke also advised that the applicant may use vinyl siding due to cost of
construction with stucco (the home is stucco).

Member Mulder expressed his concern for the conditional use permit process versus a variance process. Chair Klausing
and Member Olson also expressed concern with the process. Chair Klausing recommended the Zoning Committee review
and determine criteria for conditional use permit process versus variance process.
