<br />assist the Contractor in the performance of their work and to <br />inform and educate the public. <br /> <br />e) Recycling carts shall be placed by the resident/customer at <br />curbside on collection day, placing cart with handle toward <br />house and lid opening toward street. Free walk-up service <br />shall be provided for special needs customers who request it. <br />The Contractor shall empty/collect from each cart curbside <br />set out location or special needs house location, all acceptable <br />materials that have been prepared according publicized <br />procedures. The Driver is required to place the emptied cart <br />back/down in the same curbside location as set by resident. <br /> <br />f) The Driver is required to record and report to Contractor <br />Dispatch the location of any cart that is damaged and that cart <br />shall be repaired or replaced by the Contractor within one (I) <br />week of the report of damage. <br /> <br />g) Residents shall co-mingle all agreed upon recyclable material <br />into a single-stream recycling cart or may clearly label the <br />material and place it next to the cart. All acceptable <br />recyclables will be manually and/or mechanically sorted at a <br />designated single-stream recycling processing facility. <br /> <br />h) The Contractor and the Recycling Coordinator shall work <br />together in the preparation and distribution of educational <br />materials to insure accurate information and program <br />directions. Letters and educational materials will be mailed <br />to affected households one month before single-stream <br />collection begins. <br /> <br />i) The Contractor will publicize a hotline number staffed <br />between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. that residents can call with <br />questions about the new service. <br /> <br />21. Sinele-Stream Pilot Proeram <br /> <br />If the City of Roseville engages in a single-stream recycling <br />collection pilot program, collection will follow the guidelines in item <br />20 except: <br /> <br />a) The Contractor will engage in single-stream collection for a <br />six-month period agreed upon by the Contractor and the City <br />beginning no sooner than January I, 2004 and ending no later <br />than March 31, 2005. <br /> <br />17 <br />
