Education and Infonnation Programs <br />Public Notification <br />Bill stuffers and newsletters are sent periodically by the City that present water <br />conservation information, specific retrofit or maintenance information, and water <br />quality issues. <br /> <br />The City's billing clerk reviews individual account consumption and notes unusual <br />increases and decreases. The maintenance department is notified to check for metering <br />or leakage problems. The quick action results in a significant reduction in water wasted <br />or unaccounted for. <br /> <br />Water conservation suggestions are printed on water bills. Handouts and other <br />information distributed at open house activities and other public gatherings. See <br />Appendix C for examples. <br /> <br />Education <br />The City Water Utility has provided funding to purchase a variety of books, pamphlets, <br />posters, and other materials that investigate water quality and conservation. These are <br />available to schools and groups and provided to residents at City Open House Day, etc. <br /> <br />Page 13 of 22 <br />
