<br />Page 2 <br /> <br />The Commission directed Moorse to bring a copy of the <br />field training program manual to the next meeting, and <br />to find out whether a representative of the Police <br />Department would be willing to talk to the Commission <br />about its field training officer program. <br /> <br />D. Zalk discussed his assigned grievance. Zalk indicated <br />the grievant was terminated after ten years on the job <br />for dishonesty. The grievant felt the discipline was <br />too harsh. Zalk indicated the union business agent had <br />indicated the grievant had been a problem in the past. <br />He has received seven warnlng letters In the past <br />years, and a grievance committee at his past employer <br />had already reviewed the termination. Zalk explained <br />he suggested to the grievant that if he wanted to <br />pursue his grievance, he should pursue it at the state <br />level. <br /> <br />E. Hays suggested the Commission needs to make a decision <br />regarding how to handle its files, especially regarding <br />the Data Privacy Law. <br /> <br />F. Hays indicated the LMHRC annual meeting will be held on <br />June 22 in St. Cloud this year. The keynote speaker is <br />Susan Harjo of the Congress of American Indians. <br /> <br />Hays passed out several educational brochures from <br />other commissions. <br /> <br />II. The next meetlng will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, <br />1985. It is important we have good attendance at the <br />meeting, because the school district representatives will be <br />attending. <br /> <br />III. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m. <br />
