<br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 1991 <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Deutsch at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mary Jean Turinia Anderson, Bob Bancroft, <br />Mary Helen Deutsch, and Mary Litsheim. <br /> <br />Excused Absences: <br /> <br />Karen Bondy, stan Borden, Dave Norrgard, <br />Jackie Lindberg, and Vickie Wright. <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Ron Moorse, staff. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Anderson moved, Deutsch seconded, that the <br />meeting be approved. Roll Call, Ayes: <br />Deutsch, and Litsheim. Nays: None. <br /> <br />minutes of the May 14 <br />Anderson, Bancroft, <br /> <br />IV. Business <br />1. Grievance Update <br />Deutsch indicated a First Phase No Fault Grievance training <br />session was recently held. She also indicated there are no <br />new No Fault grievances. <br /> <br />2. Committee Updates <br />A. Essay Contest <br />The Commission discussed the theme for the contest. <br />Betty wolfangle, the Chairman of Roseville's Bicenten- <br />nial of the Constitution Committee has talked with the <br />School superintendent and with Mary Deutsch regarding <br />using the Bill of Rights as the theme for the essay con- <br />test. The Commission members agreed that it would be <br />advantageous to select a theme the School District is <br />already supporting. <br /> <br />3. Commission Brochure <br />The Commission discussed, revised and updated several areas <br />of the brochure. The goal is to finalize the brochure revi- <br />sions by Friday, June 21. <br /> <br />4. Commission Work Plan <br />The Commission discussed the work plan for the year, includ- <br />ing appointments to committees for the various acti vi ties. <br />Anderson distributed information regarding "A World of <br />Difference," a program to reduce prejudice and celebrate <br />diversity. The members agreed that the Commission could play <br />the role of catalyst, or resource, or liaison to bring pro- <br />grams such as A World of Difference and other human rights <br />information to various groups in the community. <br />
