<br />Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes - December 12, 2006 <br />Page 4 of6 <br /> <br />. existed. <br /> <br />Generic Complaint Form <br />Commissioners reiterated their previous comments on the need for a generic complaint form and <br />process for residents to follow. <br /> <br />Commissioner Venters opined that such a process would be a polite way to "put the ball back in <br />their court" for neighbors to achieve a solution; further opining that a government solution wasn't <br />always needed. <br /> <br />City Manager Selection Process discussion <br />Commissioner McGehee expressed her personal issues and concerns with the present selection <br />process for City Manager in the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />HRC Commissioner Interview Process <br />Commissioner Higbee opined that the appointment process was a City Council decision. <br /> <br />Commissioner Crump opined that, at a minimum, a representative of the HRC should be present <br />and be asked for their input prior to the City Council making their appointment; and further opined <br />that permission of the City Council should be sought to have a representative present. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioners reiterated previous discussions on the need to have younger representatives on the <br />HRC. <br /> <br />Commissioner Higbee advised that he was still awaiting a call back from the school regarding his <br />previous contact regarding suggestions for a youth representative. <br /> <br />High School Activities <br />Considerable discussion was held regarding working with the Roseville Area High School on gang <br />and diversity issues. <br /> <br />Forum Update - Pam <br />Commissioner Bosch advised that she had an opportunity to meet with Ann Phibbs, the GL TB <br />outreach coordinator at U ofMN, regarding how to bring training and discussion to the community. <br />Commissioner Bosch noted that Ms. Phibbs was more than willing to bring someone in to do Allied <br />Training for the HRC, as well as the City Council and staff, as interested. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bosch sought Commission interest in receiving Allied Training for the HRC; and <br />explained the training further, as it related to inclusivity and diversity issues, or "safe space" <br />training. <br /> <br />Commissioner McGehee opined that the City's Police Department needed to receive such training. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bosch opined that the training could be brought to many different areas of the <br />. community, including schools; and noted that there was no fee. <br />
