<br />John Stark, Community Development Director <br />City of Roseville <br /> <br />November 17,2006 <br />Page 17 <br /> <br />Support and Promote Bicvcling and Walking as Alternatives <br /> <br />The developer or subsequent property owners/operators should actively promote bicycling <br />and walking as alternative means of commuting among the residents, employees and visitors <br />of the Twin Lakes AUAR area redevelopment; primarily through information dissemination, <br />the provision of bicycle storage facilities, and planned bicycle and walking facilities (paths, <br />etc.). <br /> <br />Support Transit as an Alternative <br /> <br />The developer or subsequent property owners/operators should actively promote transit as an <br />alternative means of commuting among the residents, employees and visitors of the Twin <br />Lakes AUAR area redevelopment; primarily through information dissemination. Any <br />developer should work with the City and Metro Transit to explore the possibilities of <br />expanding bus service that serves the site directly. The developer or subsequent property <br />owners/operators should also work with office tenants to develop a program that will <br />subsidize employee's bus passes for those that choose to use transit a minimum of three days <br />per week. <br /> <br />Support and Promote Car and Vanpooling <br /> <br />The developer or subsequent property owners/operators should actively promote car and <br />vanpooling as alternative means of commuting among the residents, employees and visitors <br />of the Twin Lakes AUAR area redevelopment; primarily through information dissemination. <br />Incentives such as preferential parking location for carpoolers and motorcycles may be <br />implemented. <br /> <br />Provision ofInformation on Transportation Alternatives <br /> <br />The developer or subsequent property owners/operators should provide information on all of <br />the transportation alternatives available to residents, employees and visitors through a variety <br />of mediums. <br /> <br />. Provide route maps and information regarding the Metro Transit bus system, <br />carpooling and other transportation alternatives on-site and at key locations (lobby, <br />other building common areas, etc). <br /> <br />. Conduct a transportation alternatives awareness campaign directed toward new <br />residents and employees, which may include the following: <br /> <br />~ Including information in orientation packets. <br /> <br />~ Promote flexible schedules for its employees, which allow employees to arrive <br />and leave outside the peak commuting hours with their supervisor's permission <br />and whenever it is appropriate. <br /> <br />Provision of Advanced Commnnication Technologies <br /> <br />The developer or subsequent property owners/operators should create a development that is <br />designed with the utmost advanced communication technologies, both commercial and <br />residential properties. This may foster a future work force that is more likely to telecommute <br />using these available technologies. <br />
