Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, June 18, 2007 <br />Page 10 <br />to participate financially and supported referring the project to the <br />PWET for their recommendations to the City Council. <br />Councilmember Ihlan supported the City Council making a decision <br />prior to referring it to the PWET; specifically where the money was <br />going to come from for the signage and whether it should be included <br />in the 2008 budget. <br />Councilmember Pust concurred that the final decision needed to be <br />made by the City Council but opined that her decision would be based <br />on the details presented and recommendations of the various consid- <br />erations by the PWET that the City Council would need to make a de- <br />termination. <br />Mr. Myllenbeck advised that the circumstances of the clubs could <br />change in the future that might allow more financial participation by <br />them. <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in support of the welcome signs and expressed <br />interest in moving forward. Mayor Klausing noted the need to discuss <br />funding and opined that this was an appropriate expenditure of public <br />funds; however, further opined that he didn't know if he could commit <br />to the signs until the costs and other details were known. Mayor <br />Klausing suggested that other groups may be interested in funding the <br />signs as well and further opined that the PWET was a great place to <br />start discussions. <br />Mayor Klausing suggested that the City Council needed to develop a <br />clear policy and have a procedure in place to determine what logos <br />and/or service organizations were included on the signage and rec- <br />ommended that this would be another PWET discussion for recom- <br />mendation. <br />Roe moved, Pust seconded, requesting the Public Works, Environ- <br />ment and Transportation (PWET) Commission to consider placing <br />"Welcome to Roseville" signs within the City. <br />Councilmember Pust noted in addition to those items identified in the <br />staff report dated June 18, 2007, that PWET be encouraged to coordi- <br />
